A short walk across Stanley Park is in store for Everton as they head to Liverpool on Sunday.
Sam Allardyce‘s appointment as manager has got them playing like a different team, with a hat-trick of clean sheets in their last three games. But getting away from Anfield without conceding will not be easy.
Jurgen Klopp‘s men have also been firing of late, hitting Spartak Moscow for seven goals in midweek, which helped us land a 7/2 4fold.
Team News
Alberto Moreno is out after picking up an ankle injury in the smashing of Spartak so James Milner should come in, and Joel Matip will probably miss out with a thigh injury.
Sam has a number of injury issues, including Leighton Baines (calf), Ross Barkley (hamstring).
Ramiro Funes Mori and Yannick Bolasie both have knee injuries and James McCarthy (hamstring), Maarten Stekelenburg (groin), and Seamus Coleman (broken leg) are also out.
Betting Focus
If this fixture had taken place about three weeks ago then Liverpool would’ve been a much shorter price, but it’s happening this Sunday and 3/10 looks about right.
While Big Sam will have the Toffees organised, I just cannot see their defence keeping this incredible Liverpool frontline at bay, so I like the look of Liverpool -1 on the handicap at a shade of odds-on.
When you think of this Liverpool team you don’t think of clean sheets but the Reds have conceded just twice in their seven home League games this season, so that is another reason for the selection.
Like with my Man United v Man City Big Match Preview, I fancy a booking bet on this game, too.
With Baines out, Cuco Martina should come in at left-back where he will likely face the speedy Sadio Mane, and 7/2 for the Dutch full-back to be carded during the game looks decent.
Philippe Coutinho was in sublime form in midweek, hitting a hat-trick in the Champions League so I like the look of 6/1 e/w with unlimited places for him to score first.
