Football betting tips: The Set Odds’ 4-4-2 Betting System [Week 7]

Hello all,

We’re still riding high from last Saturday’s success and looking for more this time around.

Granted, the midweek fixtures didn’t go our way – we were one goal away from the Tuesday 5fold, one goal away from the Draw Double, and all four of Tuesday’s Lucas Joao tips won but only Blackpool conceded.

I’ve gone for a 190/1 Lucas Joao tip for this Saturday with Man City fresh from scoring nine in their last two games right up there as the first selection away at an impressive Watford team I fancy to net.

I also like high-flying League One sides Peterborough and Charlton – second and third respectively – to travel back from their away trips to Gillingham and Walsall with all three points, but their defences breached.

The final selection is Cardiff at home against Sheffield Wednesday. The Bluebirds’ run of five straight league wins came to an end at Fulham last weekend when they were held to a 1-1 draw, and earlier this week they were soundly beaten 3-0 at Preston.

But Cardiff have won all three of their home games and if anyone can inspire them to get back on track it’s their no-nonsense manager Neil Warnock, as the former Sheffield United gaffer takes on his old rivals Wednesday.

He once infamously said he would “f**k ’em up so badly” in just one month if he was ever asked to manage the Owls, then “retire to Cornwall”. That’s the sort of passion we need from Cardiff on Saturday because I’ve also chosen them in the Win 5fold.

Ipswich are another team who had a 100 per cent record after four games this season but they’ve since lost twice, to Fulham and QPR.

But they’ve had a week off to prepare for the visit of Bolton, who are rock bottom with just two points from a possible 21, and I fancy the Tractor Boys to bounce back.

Wigan demonstrated their quality by dismantling fellow promotion hopefuls Charlton 3-0 on Tuesday night, and I expect them to see off Bristol Rovers, who have lost two of their three away games, fairly comfortably at the DW Stadium.

My pre-season League One winners tip Blackburn have started to look the part, winning their last four league games after two defeats, and I like the look of them to outdo Wimbledon at Ewood Park on Saturday.

Exeter are top of League Two having won six of their seven games, including the last five, and I expect them to beat a Crewe side who been indifferent this season.

The Grecians are my final 5fold selection and it was between them and Sheffield United, who have crept into third in the Championship following four straight wins, for the remaining spot before the Blades were cut off.

Liverpool and Man City are the shortest priced sides in the Premier League 3pms this Saturday, but the Reds entertain a Burnley team who have won at Chelsea and drawn at Tottenham in their two away games this season.

This is the sort of game Liverpool tend to slip up in so there is definitely some appeal for Burnley or Draw at 11/4 (Betway – bet HERE), especially as Sadio Mane is suspended. Liverpool have won just five of 12 Premier League games he hasn’t started since August 2016.

I backed Tottenham to break their Wembley hoodoo on Wednesday night against Dortmund, and while they duly obliged, Porto and Napoli let me down for a 5fold win.

Harry Kane looks back to his best and I fancy Spurs to brush aside Swansea in the late kick off and put the Wembley curse to bed once and for all. So, I have picked them in the Handicap Treble along with Blackburn and Wigan.

I’m considering making a few substitutions to a couple markets next week, so for some of these bets it’s last chance saloon time before they get replaced by a fancy, shiny, hopefully-more-likely-to-make-cash market.

One of those is the Half-time Draw Treble, but I’m feeling extra confident this Saturday. Newcastle and Stoke have been drawing in three of their four games at half-time this season, so that fixture is in, and Bury have been level at the break in six of their seven games.

If those two land then it’ll be onto Sunday when Doncaster host Scunthorpe. Both sides have been drawing at half-time in five of their seven League games this season.

Another is the Over 1.5 goals acca. I’ve been trialling a new market to replace that, so watch this space next week.

My Tuesday night trip to Birmingham to watch Villa was about as glorious as the gloomy weather as we failed to beat Middlesbrough, despite our old boy Adama Traore being sent off after four minutes.

I’m off to Barnsley on Saturday to see how we get on in the Championship’s late kick off and cannot see why the Tykes are second favourites.

If I backed against my team I’d be putting money on either Barnsley HT Barnsley FT at 5/1 (Bet Victor – bet HERE) or Draw HT Barnsley FT at 15/2 (Bet Victor – bet HERE).
