The Set Odds’ 4-4-2 System: Post-Weekend Review [Week 5]

Hello all,

It was a profitable day on Saturday but we were also left wondering what might have been had Man United grabbed a winner at Stoke. A grand won from a fiver – that’s what!

First of all, the Win 5fold landed at 17/2 giving us a 19 point return and some 4-4-2 System profit!

I also tipped up a Watford win away at Southampton at 9/2 and they obliged with a comfortable victory.

The real story of Saturday was the 209/1 Lucas Joao, in which three of the legs won leaving the bet needing just a United victory and BTTS in the late kick off to land.

Myself and a number of followers managed to cash out for some serious profit before and during the United game but unfortunately the win didn’t come.

Two late first half goals meant the teams went in at the break evenly poised at 1-1, which was perfect for us.

I wasn’t able to watch the game because I was on the train back to London after watching an extremely drab display from Villa in a 0-0 draw against Brentford, in which we were lucky to get a point.

There was euphoria when Romelu Lukaku gave United a 2-1 lead just before the hour, but it lasted just six minutes. Sadly, it stayed like that and the game ended 2-2.

Despite making great profit from cash outs, they won’t be reflected in the profit and loss figures for the 4-4-2 System. It was so close to being a 104.5 point winner!

Following our Saturday success, The Set Odds Twitter attracted some new followers, including King of the BOOMS, former Celebrity Big Brother contestant and star of Arsenal Fan TV, Heavy D.

As I predicted on Thursday, Harry Kane got back to scoring ways in September – why oh why did I drop him from my fantasy football team?! – and my 20/1 pre-season tip for Player of the Year, Kevin De Bruyne, put in a brilliant display as Man City thrashed Liverpool 5-0.

I also dropped him from my team, and brought in Sadio Mane! At least I captained my 9/1 Premier League top scorer tip Gabriel Jesus, who netted twice, giving him three for the season, one off Lukaku at the summit.

In other positive news, my ante-post Championship top scorer tip Britt Assombalonga netted twice for Middlesbrough, putting him on four for the season, joint top of the charts with a number of other players.

We were just two goals away from the 27/1 Handicap Treble winning. Leeds did their bit in a 5-0 dismantling of Burton but Wolves and Charlton could only win 1-0 and 2-1 against Millwall and Southend respectively.

We were only two legs away from landing the Over 1.5 goals acca. Yeovil and Cheltenham, and Newport and Wycombe somehow played out 0-0 draws, despite being involved in plenty of goals so far this season.

These two shock results also cost me the 19/2 Over 2.5 goals 4fold.

There’s loads of football on this week, starting with tonight’s clash between a struggling West Ham and impressive Premier League newcomers Huddersfield, and there are two bets I like the look of.

The first is my 40/1 outsider tip for Premier League top scorer, Javier Hernandez, to score first at 9/2 (Sky Bet – bet HERE), and the second is a huge 28/1 on Huddersfield’s Aaron Mooy to score from outside the box.

The Champions League returns on Tuesday and there is a full Championship, League One and League Two fixture schedule so I will bring you a bonus Tuesday edition of the 4-4-2 System!
