Hello all,
It was a successful weekend with a 6.5pts return from a 5pt outlay on Saturday thanks to the BTTS 4fold landing at 11/2.
Seven out of the eight teams – Watford, Spurs, Brentford, Fulham, Bolton, Barnsley and Bayer Leverkusen – had all scored leaving just Dortmund, playing against 10-men Leverkusen, to net.
They looked more like the team playing with 10 men but fortunately Andriy Yarmolenko popped up with a goal to give us Saturday profit.
It’s not going to please the bank manager too much but it’s profit. And we’ve all heard this before, but once again I was just one goal off another winner. And once again it was a lack of a Barcelona goal which cost it.
Barca’s home draw against Malaga meant we missed out on a 10.5pts return from the Win 5fold, which is incredibly tough to take as it would’ve given us a 17pts return from 5pts bet over the weekend.
But focusing on the positives, the Arsenal v Man United Big Match Preview also provided some winnings thanks to Jesse Lingard.
I tipped him up at 10/1 each-way to net first and while he was slightly slow on the uptake only scoring second, he did at least find the net to give us a lovely 33/10 winner in what was the best game of the season so far.
At 2-1 down it looked as though Arsenal might get back into it and land us the draw wager, but it wasn’t to be as only one of their 33 (that is not a typo) shots went in thanks to David De Gea.
The Champions League is back this week for the last of the group action before the knockout stages start next year so stay tuned later for another blog with a few tips.
Like Matchday 5, it’s not always that easy to pick up winners because some teams have already qualified so I will be treading carefully.
The EFL Trophy is also in action this week and it usually means goals, so I may have a little play on that, too.
