Arsenal v Man United Betting Tips: The Set Odds’ Big Match Preview

Back in the late 90s/ early 00s, Arsenal v Man United was the grudge of grudge matches as they went head-to-head for the Premier League title.

Over the years, we’ve witnessed the Battle of Old Trafford in 2003 – who can forget Martin Keown jumping all over Ruud van Nistelrooy? – the Battle of the Buffet in 2004 with the infamous pizza-throwing incident, and Patrick Vieira and Roy Keane’s no-nonsense midfield battles.

While the Battle for the Top Four doesn’t have quite the same ring to it these days, there is no love lost between Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger, so this promises to be another cracker.

Team News

Arsenal were dealt a blow in their 5-0 win over Huddersfield as Alexandre Lacazette injured his groin and will miss the United match.

Alexis Sanchez is also a doubt with a hamstring injury, as is Theo Walcott (illness), and Santi Cazorla is still out with his long-term achilles problem.

United also have doubts over defenders Phil Jones and Eric Bailly, who have thigh and groin problems respectively, and midfielders Nemanja Matic (leg) and Marouane Fellaini (knee), while Michael Carrick has a heart problem.

Neither side are missing anyone through suspension.

Betting Focus

As usual with these big match clashes, it’s tough to separate the two sides.

The Gunners have hit form with five wins in their last six Premier League games, but United have been victorious in four of their last five League encounters.

It’s been well documented that Mourinho’s men rarely score away against the so-called Big Six teams, could he have learnt his lesson by now, especially after their impressive four goals scored at Watford in midweek?

While Arsenal have looked great of late with Mesut Ozil particularly impressive on Wednesday, the loss of Lacazette and potential absence of Sanchez is massive so I’m going to plump for a draw at 23/10 and like 1-1 at 6/1.

Ashley Young stole the show for United on Tuesday night, but Jesse Lingard also popped up with a superb solo effort and I like the 10/1 on him to score first on Saturday each-way at one-third of the odds for UNLIMITED places, so you’re getting 33/10 anytime.

Last week’s Liverpool v Chelsea Big Match Preview had a winner as the BTTS came in.

Sadly, the 16/1 on Liverpool winning at HT and the game ending a draw narrowly missed out as the Reds took the lead inside the second half before being pegged back.

But we were on the right lines and can hopefully go one better this week with some odds-against victories!
