Football Betting Tips: The Set Odds’ 4-4-2 System [Champions League Week 2]

Hello all,

It’s only Tuesday but we’ve already made a profitable start to the week!

My 8/1 Monday night tip for Arsenal to net over 1.5 goals and West Brom to earn over 3.5 cards sailed in thanks to the Gunners’ 2-0 win against the ill-disciplined Baggies.

Albion’s Allan Nyom sealed the bet when he conceded a penalty for the second goal, dispatched by Alexandre Lacazette, and picked up a yellow card in the process, giving West Brom their fourth card of the night.

It was bittersweet because Nyom is also in my fantasy football team – but soon to be out, hopefully he’s not reading this – but who cares about that when you’re winning some cold, hard cash, eh?!

There are loads of Champions League games plus a full Football League schedule tonight, so I’m bringing you a bonus blog!

The 4-4-2 System looks more like a five-a-side formation though as some markets have missed out because I didn’t want to try to fill certain bets just for the sake of it with matches I wasn’t confident about. So, it’s just a 5.25pts outlay tonight for me.

The Football League has been the area mainly letting me down in my near misses – seven out of 10 of last weekend’s 4-4-2 System went down by two goals or less – so I’ve opted to mostly go with Champions League selections this evening.

There were a bucket load of goals in the competition two weeks ago and I’m hoping for more of the same tonight from the likes of Man City and Napoli who are the main picks in my Win 5fold to see off Shakhtar Donetsk and Feyenoord.

I initially chose Tottenham but Nicosia can be tricky to break down at home and Spurs are without Christian Eriksen, Mousa Dembele, Victor Wanyama, Danny Rose, and Erik Lamela through injury, and Dele Alli and Jan Vertonghen are suspended.

So, it may not be a walk in the Cypriot park for the north Londoners.

Monaco have performed fairly well this season, despite losing some big players in the summer, so I like the look of them to see off Porto, with a Draw No Bet for a bit of insurance.

In the Championship, Bristol City should be good enough to brush aside lacklustre Bolton at home, while it’s about time Middlesbrough kicked into gear and they face a Norwich team who have netted just twice in their last five League games.

The pick of the Champions League games this week looks to be Dortmund at home to Real Madrid, who have been less than convincing this season.

I fancy the Spanish giants to pick up a draw in what should be a goal-fest, and I’m hoping Besiktas can hold Dortmund’s fellow countrymen RB Leipzig for an attractively-priced 13/1 Draw Double.

After a rare two games away I’m back in the Villa end tonight at Burton, where a win could put us into the Championship play-off spots. Tissues at the ready to catch those nosebleeds!
