Arsenal v Liverpool Betting Tips: The Set Odds’ Big Match Preview

Arsenal v Liverpool is always a game for the neutral to look forward to and it’s the Reds who have got the better of the Gunners in recent times, winning the last three matches between the two sides.

Jurgen Klopp has shown a fiery side to his character in the last few weeks, and while he boasts an embarrassment of riches up front, it won’t be easy defeating Arsenal at the Emirates this season.

Arsene Wenger’s men have got the job done at home all but once in the League and Liverpool’s defence has hardly stood strong this season – they’ve conceded a massive 17 in nine away Prem games, more than Swansea, Crystal Palace, and Newcastle.

It looks set to be a goal fest – the sort of fixture Friday night football was made for!

Team News

Arsenal won’t be able to call on their super sub Olivier Giroud on Friday night after he suffered a hamstring injury in midweek, and Aaron Ramsey is out with the same issue.

There is some good news for the Gunners though as Shkodran Mustafi and Francis Coquelin will both be available.

Emre Can is back for Liverpool after picking up a one-game suspension, but Daniel Sturridge is ill, Alberto Moreno has an ankle injury and the game looks to come too soon for Joel Matip.

Adam Lallana – who scored in Liverpool’s 4-3 win at the Emirates on the opening weekend of last season – is pushing for a start.

Betting Focus

While Liverpool have got the better of Arsenal recently, the Gunners have won 13 of their last 14 home Premier League matches, with just Man United getting the better of them on their own patch this season thanks largely to David de Gea’s sublime performance in their 3-1 win.

Having said that, Liverpool could really punish the Arsenal defence if their front four are on form, providing Klopp doesn’t rest a few of them like he did against Everton.

I just can’t pick a winner in this one so am having to sit on that splintered fence and opt for a draw at 13/5.

I do fancy a few goals in the game so am also going for the slightly larger price of 11/1 for a 2-2 stalemate.

Salah has been on fire in the last few months and finds himself sitting at the summit of the Premier League top scorers chart with an impressive 14, averaging one every 97 minutes, the best of anyone who has netted more than five times in the top flight.

He looks irresistible at times when he plays so I think he’s value to net first at a big 11/2.
