Tottenham Hotspur vs Swansea

3pm – 03.12.16

Spurs’ unbeaten start to the campaign came to an end with a 1-2 defeat at Chelsea on Saturday.

It capped off a poor run that saw them get knocked out of the Champions League and win just one of their last 10 matches across all competitions.

They need three points to stay in touch with the title race, and the White Hart Lane faithful will be buoyed by the fact they’ve never lost to Swansea in the Premier League, winning eight of 10 meetings, though just two of these were by more than one goal.

The Swans bagged their first win under Bob Bradley and their first success in 11 in dramatic fashion when overcoming Palace 5-4 in a remarkable encounter.

They’ve not won on the road since the opening day (D1-L4), but only one of their defeats have been by more than a single goal.

They’ve lost 10 of 13 trips to top-six sides since 2014/15 but have remained relatively competitive, losing by just one goal in six of these.

Spurs have won 11 of their 14 home matches against bottom-six opposition under Mauricio Pochettino, but there is little value in backing them at 1.33, so instead we’ll back the hosts to win by a one-goal margin.

Three of their four home victories this term have been by this margin, and with the goals drying up (nine in their last 10 in all competitions), it’s a viable option again.
