Southampton vs Burnley

4pm – 16.10.16

S’oton 1.40 4.50 10.00 Burnley

Following a goalless draw at Leicester, Southampton have now kept six clean sheets in a row in all competitions as things seem be looking a lot brighter under Claud Puel. A major part of this has been Oriol Romeu’s performances in front of the back-four. He’s patrolled the midfield with tremendous power and precision as the Saints haven’t been involved in many high-scorers with just two of their seven seeing more than two goals.

Burnley’s games too have tended not to be open with five of their seven seeing fewer than three strikes while both teams have scored in just one. 14th is a respectable position for Sean Dyche’s men but the concern is they’ve only played two away matches, both of which they lost 3-0. Away form was the Clarets Achilles’ heel back in 2014/15 where they went W3-D5-L11, failing to score in nine of the losses.

Southampton have lost just one of their last 13 at St. Mary’s, winning nine. They also boast an impressive record when hosting promoted sides, going W9-D1-L1 since their return to the top-flight in 2012/13. Seven of the victories were to nil including the last five in a row and it looks the obvious bet for us again.
