The Set Odds’ 4-4-2 Betting System: Post-Weekend Review [Week 7]

Hello all,

The football Gods were having a laugh this weekend with plenty of coupon busters among the results.

Tottenham’s Wembley jinx returned for their draw with Swansea after having Wednesday night off, Fulham suffered defeat at Burton, Blackburn lost at home to Wimbledon, Charlton lost at Gillingham and my team Villa finally decided to turn up to bash Barnsley!

I did tip up Burnley to win or draw at Liverpool as a decent bet at 11/4 and they managed to do just that, earning a 1-1 stalemate despite having just 29 per cent of possession. So it wasn’t all bad.

But it was another case of seeing some bets agonisingly miss out by one selection.

The 6/1 Win 5fold lost thanks to Blackburn’s home defeat to Wimbledon and the 36/1 Win 10fold slipped up by just two – Rovers’ loss and Fulham’s surprise defeat away at struggling Burton.

So, while it’s no consolation to the bank balance, it was another really close Saturday.

On Sunday, I gave you a heads up on Twitter about an 8/1 7fold I really liked. Chelsea let it down in the first game and afterwards, you know the rest. The other six results all flew in.

The Football League is as unpredictable as ever but the Premier League looks to be slowly taking shape with both Manchester United and Manchester City showing their class this weekend, destroying Everton and Watford respectively.

It was also a great weekend for my 15,300/1 ante-post top goalscorer each-way Lucky 15 as three out of the four selections, Gabriel Jesus, Britt Assombalonga and James Collins, all netted.

The League Cup returns in midweek so I will be having a small flutter, but I’m missing my first Villa game of the season as we take on Middlesbrough at home for the second Tuesday running.

With all the team selection changes in this competition I prefer to go down the goals galore route so will be having a BTTS wager.

Look out on The Set Odds’ Twitter account for any other tips throughout the week, and of course the 4-4-2 Betting System will return later in the week for another enthralling weekend of football action.
