The Set Odds’ 4-4-2 Betting System: Post-Weekend Review [Week 26]

Hello all,

It was a profitable weekend overall and another case of what might have been in terms of the Lucas Joao as the 385/1 4fold missed out by just ONE selection.

Three out of the four landed as Blackburn, Wigan and Mansfield won and conceded against Fleetwood, Plymouth and Cheltenham respectively – but sadly Notts County lost 2-1 at home to Exeter.

If that scoreline had been in favour of the home side we would be sitting pretty right about now!

Instead, it didn’t come in and the Win 5fold was also let down by a few surprising results as Wolves lost at home to Forest, and Atletico Madrid were held by Girona on their own patch.

Fortunately, my two single tips came in at 4/1 and 7/4.

When I was pricing up the Lucas Joao I noticed Rovers were 4/1 to win at Fleetwood with both teams scoring which was far too big, and it proved to be so.

And Sheffield United were great value away at a Norwich side who had taken Chelsea to penalties a few days earlier.

Both prevailed, netting us a 2.85pts profit, which is always nice, but it could’ve so easily been three-figures.

Never mind, we’ve got some League Cup semi-final action to look forward to this week as Bristol City aim to overturn a 2-1 deficit at home to Man City on Tuesday, and Arsenal and Chelsea meet again after their recent 0-0 at Stamford Bridge.

I’ll be doing a Big Match Preview for Chelsea‘s trip to the Emirates, but for City’s visit to Ashton Gate I like the look of a longshot to open the scoring.

Bobby Reid netted first at the Etihad and I fancy him to do the same again at a huge 14/1. I’ll be backing him each-way with unlimited places at a third of the odds at Bet365.

City should win the game overall but it could be another close half, like the first leg, so I’m going Draw at half-time, City at full-time at 16/5.

What’s more, I’ve been trying out some first goalscorer double bets to see if they make long-term profit and netted a 32/1 double on Saturday, so keep an eye out in the blog posts and on the Twitter account for those. Good luck!
