The Set Odds’ 4-4-2 Betting System: Post-Weekend Review [Week 15]

Football is a wonderful game to watch at times and a huge winning wager can bring even more elation.

Landing a massive win from a tiny outlay is like celebrating a last-minute winner away at your rivals x100 – I’m fortunate to have done both – but you also have to take the rough with the smooth.

I’m the first to admit there has been far too much rough this season, as well as a number of near misses – I generally cannot remember the last time I lost out on so many bets over the course of a season by one goal – including Sunday night’s heartache.

We missed out on the 141/1 Win and BTTS Lucas Joao 4fold but just ONE goal. Barcelona, of all teams you could pick to win you £700 from a fiver, were the ones who failed to score it.

Granted, they had an incredibly tough fixture away at in-form Valencia to overcome but they scored a “goal” reminiscent of Frank Lampard’s goal-which-wasn’t against Germany at the 2010 World Cup last night.

It was miles over the line but unbelievably there is no goal line technology in La Liga – one of the most prestigious football leagues in the world – and it wasn’t given.

Should the ghost goal have stood it may not have led to Barca winning with Valencia scoring because the game could’ve been completely different, but all I know is we missed out on a huge, huge win by one Barca goal and I’m still reeling from it.

Anyway, he says, wiping away his tears and reading from a book of life clichés, if you don’t have the bad times the good times won’t feel as great.

The Lucas Joao has come so close on occasions and I’m sure one will land sooner or later but it can be painful watching at times.

Add to that, Spurs – who have been brilliant for a lot of the season – failed to win at home to a West Brom side with Gary Megson in charge, costing the Win 5fold, and weekend profit, just days after we were a Man City goal away from profit last Tuesday night. It’s been a tough week.

One of these days everything will click, but the in meantime you’ve got to speculate to accumulate so I’m certainly keeping the faith.

When you’ve had a close defeat the best thing to do is go out again with an even more determined will to win, and that’s what I’ll be doing this week.

The football calendar seems to be busier than Prince Harry‘s wedding planner will be in a few months – congrats Hazza – with fixtures coming out of everywhere.

This week we’re treated to a full Premier League fixture list and a sprinkling of League One and Two matches, but I’m looking forward to watch Watford v Man United the most on Tuesday night.

Watford have been flying in the last few games and while United have been decent enough, I think 19/4 (Bet365 – bet HERE) for the Hornets to prevail at home looks pretty big to me. You heard it here first.

Look out for a bonus blog with the midweek tips.
