The Set Odds’ 4-4-2 Betting System: Post Weekend Review [Week 11]

Hello all,

There were shocks aplenty on Saturday as Man United lost at Huddersfield, free-scoring Luton couldn’t even manage one at Crawley, Leeds won 3-0 at Bristol City, and Port Vale won at Exeter.

The new Both Teams To Score acca went really close on its 4-4-2 debut with just Doncaster and Wycombe failing to net to narrowly miss out on a 16/1 winner.

I did manage one Saturday triumph though courtesy of my 14/5 tip for Cardiff to win at Middlesbrough.

It looked a huge price considering Cardiff are second and Boro have been poor this season.

I fancied a Spurs win but went for draw at HT, win at FT for the 9/2 odds but they were 2-1 up after the first 45.

But I have to confess I backed Spurs -1 at 3/1 minutes before the game got underway after seeing the Liverpool line up and my tweet about it was as missing as Dejan Lovren’s defending! Apologies!

I just couldn’t see them not winning and can’t believe all the pundits who have talked Liverpool up so much this season.

My results weren’t good enough on Saturday though and I’m determined to improve things in the next 4-4-2 instalment so please bear with me.

The League Cup gets a bit tastier this week with the Round of 16 taking place.

The most attractive game sees Premier League and Championship table toppers Man City and Wolves go head-to-head on Tuesday.

For this week’s Long-Term Bet, I’m getting back on the Villa tipping train. I could be accused of being biased because Villa are my team but this is money we’re talking about so bias doesn’t come into it.

With 33 Championship games to go I think we should be much shorter for the title than 14/1.

Wolves – odds on faves – should really win it but I think the two of us have the best squads in the division and with most bookies paying a quarter the odds for top three, 14s really appeals to me.

I’ve drawn a line through our 2-0 loss at Wolves earlier this month because we didn’t turn up, but we did at home to Fulham on Saturday and were well worth the win.

I’ve been to every League game this season bar one – a home win over Forest – and I can definitely see us finishing top three.

Long-Term Bet

Villa to win the Championship – 14/1 each-way at Betfair (bet HERE)
