It will be interesting to see how Leicester perform following their Champions League excursions this season but after a 3-0 victory in Brugge on Wednesday they probably couldn’t have asked for a better fixture than Burnley at home.
In the league their hangover from 2015/16 continued with a torrid performance at Anfield last weekend. The N’golo Kante hole left behind seems to get bigger every game and the ‘Tinkerman’ may have to tinker his formation from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3 to account for the missing Frenchman. Though this may not happen against the Clarets at the King Power on Saturday where the Foxes have lost just once since Ranieri took charge. They won five of six unbeaten matches against bottom-six clubs last term, with the margin of victory just one goal on four occasions.
Burnley were unlucky not to make it two wins out of three at home last weekend and they certainly look as if they’ll provide a much greater challenge when at Turf Moor rather than on the road. It was a similar case in 2014/15 where they went W3-D5-L11 on the road with six of these defeats by just a single goal. The Foxes still look a strong outfit at home but given they’ve got to recover from a mid-week trip to Belgium and they’ve yet to get going in the league we don’t anticipate a thrashing.
