Football Betting Tips: The Set Odds’ 4-4-2 Betting System [Week 8]

Hello all,

The Carabao Cup has run out of energy for yet another week so we can resume Premier League and Football League betting this weekend.

I’m kicking off Saturday’s Win 5fold tip with one of the teams of the moment, Man City.

I fancied Watford to make it difficult for them last weekend but City ran out convincing 6-0 winners, partly thanks to my pre-season Premier League top scorer tip Gabriel Jesus, who is linking up really well with Sergio Aguero up top.

They should easily dispatch a Crystal Palace side who have been dreadful this season, losing all five of their League games.

New gaffer Roy Hodgson should have the Eagles organised but I can’t see him pulling off an Iceland-style shock here. City should prevail all day long with goals to spare.

The red half of Manchester is also bouncing as Man United have an identical record to City at the summit of the Premier League after five games – won four, drawn once, lost none, scored 16 and conceded two.

So, it’s no surprise I’m backing Mourinho’s men to do the business at spluttering Southampton, who have been average this season.

In the Championship, QPR have taken 10 points from 12 at home and they have an attractive fixture against Burton Albion, who have just one point from 12 away from the Pirelli Stadium.

QPR have suffered a blow this week with news their captain Nedum Onuoha is out for three months, but they’ve had all week to prepare for the visit of Burton, who had to make a midweek trip to Man United in the League Cup on Wednesday.

Wolves should be able to overcome a struggling Barnsley side who were dispatched by my team Villa 3-0 last Saturday.

The Tykes struggled with our firepower of Keinan Davis and the returning Jonathan Kodjia up front and should go the same way when coming up against free-scoring Diogo Jota and Leo Bonatini.

I’ve been let down by Luton a few times this season but I fancy them to see off Chesterfield – who sacked manager Gary Caldwell on the weekend – at home on Saturday to, fingers crossed, complete a winning 5fold.

The Hatters have won three from four at Kenilworth Road, and the Spireites have picked up just one point in 12 away from the Proact Stadium.

Plus, Luton will be buoyed by their smash and grab job at Wycombe last weekend when they equalised in the last minute and then James Collins hit the winner in a 2-1 victory eight minutes into injury time.

There was careful consideration about subbing a few of the current markets but when researching the 4-4-2 this week I found the three under scrutiny had fixtures which screamed success more than the trio of new markets. So, they live to fight another day.

Talking of being under pressure, Ronald Koeman’s Everton looked poor against both Tottenham and Man United in recent weeks.

But they face a Bournemouth side who have lost both their away games this season and have failed to win in 10 of their last 11 away days in the Premier League.

This is surely the perfect opportunity for Wayne Rooney to put them into the driving seat to take all three points – although he’s used to six nowadays – despite the Cherries no doubt being in a fruitful mood after overcoming Brighton twice in the last week.

Stoke have beaten Arsenal and drawn with Man United in their two home games this season and I fancy them to make it difficult for Chelsea so I’ve left the Blues out of my win selections.

One price which screamed out to me was League One table toppers Shrewsbury at 2/1 (Bet365 – bet HERE) to beat Blackburn at home.

The Shrews have won all four of their home games this season and while Rovers have picked up maximum points in three of their four away matches, they could be reeling from a shock 1-0 home defeat to Wimbledon last time out, which cost us a 6/1 5fold.

I’ve gone down to League One and League Two for this Saturday’s Lucas Joao bet.

Fleetwood, who won their last match 3-2, face a Southend side who have scored in two of their last three away defeats, and Exeter have won their last three away games with both teams scoring.

Rotherham have done the same in their last two home games, including last time out against Walsall, who have lost three of their last four away games by the same method so I’ve gone for their opponents Oxford to complete the quartet.

I will be following the scores from sunny Barcelona this weekend – and hoping my tips play like Messi and co!
