It’s been fun watching the Champions League this week but that joy ended swiftly for me on Wednesday night when Olympiacos hit an injury-time consolation goal in their 3-1 defeat at Barcelona to deny me a 10pt profit on the night.
It was particularly gutting to see it was their only shot on target in the game and Juventus appeared to have won the bet with seven minutes to go by taking the lead over Sporting.

This week brings about a change for The 4-4-2 System as in true Tinkerman style, I’m making some serious subs.
Off goes the Over 1.5 goals, Half-time Draw Treble and Under 2.5 goals 6fold betting markets, and, as the commentator used to say on ISS 98 for the N64, “fresh blood is coming on” in the shape of the Mixed Multiple, Anytime Goalscorer Acca and Both Teams To Score Acca markets.
The Mixed Multiple will be made up of the best selections from the weekend, so it could be something like a team to win -1 on the handicap, both teams to score in a fixture, another team Draw No Bet etc etc.
I’ll be staking 2pts on that with the aim of getting at least 10 or 11 back from it each week.
I’m really confident about the Anytime Goalscorer market. I’ve been testing in out in the past few weeks and in five attempts I’ve had three wins at 10/1, 6/1 and 5/1.
The last one I tried out was on Tuesday night and sadly lost, but came close. I had 1pt on at 5/1 and Cristiano Ronaldo, Gabriel Jesus and Roberto Firmino all scored, but it lost out due to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang failing to net for Dortmund at APOEL Nicosia.
I’m confident we can land a few of these in the Premier and Football League with my ante-post top scorer bets, Jesus, Britt Assombalonga, Charlie Wyke and James Collins all doing well each week.
Many of you will be familiar with the Both Teams to Score bet. It’s one I’ve had much joy on but I just couldn’t find a way for it in the original 4-4-2 line-up. It could well be the secret weapon of the season and win us back some points.
A bit like Oumar Niasse for Everton the other week when he came out of the wilderness to win them a game they were losing against Bournemouth!
As usual, I’m starting the Win 5fold tips off in Manchester with City at home to Burnley and United at Huddersfield.
City are an extremely short 1/12 to win the game, with the Clarets – who have won at Chelsea and drawn away at Spurs and Liverpool this season – a huge 33/1 best price for a shock victory.
While that’s not likely, it just shows how much the bookies are worried about rampant City so I’m backing them -1 for the Win 5fold and -2 for the Handicap Treble, which has been downgraded from a 1pt bet to a 0.5pts wager.
I fancy Mourinho’s United to go to an average Huddersfield and get the job done quite comfortably, too, and I’m hoping that will also be the case for Stoke over Bournemouth.
Stoke’s form doesn’t look great but they’ve had some tough fixtures. In their four home games they’ve beaten Arsenal and Southampton, drawn with United and lost against Chelsea, while the Cherries have lost all four away.
I was impressed with Derby’s win over Forest last week and cannot see them losing against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, but am playing it safe on the double chance market.
And I fancy Shrewsbury to continue to be the only unbeaten team left in the EFL come 4.50pm on Saturday after they’ve entertained Fleetwood.
Elsewhere, I cannot understand why Middlesbrough are Evens to beat Cardiff when they’ve been dismal of late and the Bluebirds, despite not winning in two, sit second in the table.
A poke on Cardiff at 14/5 with Betway (bet HERE) looks much better value for money than on Boro at Evens.

I looked back at some of my old betting blogs on Wednesday and on this week last year I was just ONE result off winning 7,790/1 and 1,191/1 6folds, which would’ve netted me more than £25,000.
In consolation, I scooped £700 from a 15p Heinz (£8.55) – so I’m hoping one year on it can give me a bit of luck to get some wins on the board.
