Everton suffered their first league defeat of season at Bournemouth last weekend in a lacklustre display. Ronald Koeman will no doubt ask for considerably more from his team on their return to Goodison on Friday night when they welcome an in-form Palace side.
The Toffees home form was shocking last season with just a W6-D5-L8 record, but they’ve been far more authoritative under the new manager where their only blemish has come in the League Cup. However, Stoke and Middlesbrough have hardly provided the sternest of tests while they drew against a well below par Spurs side. It will be interesting to see how they fare against a confident Eagles side in the midst of a three match winning streak.
Palace’s new summer signings are looking increasingly cohesive, especially going forward where they’ve netted nine times in their winning run, but there are still issues at the back as they’ve yet to keep a clean sheet this term. As a result both teams to score becomes an option at 1.73, but instead we’ll back Pardew’s men to get something from the game at a more generous price of 2.1. They’ve only lost 11 of their road games since he took charge, seven of which came in a barren spell during the second-half of last season, a phase from which they’ve seemed to have turned a corner.
