Villareal vs Celta Vigo

7.45pm – 16.10.16

Villarreal remain unbeaten this season but have drawn four of their seven games and as a result currently occupy fifth spot though they are just two points off the Madrid sides at the top of the table. Celta, meanwhile, look to be back on track as they’ve won their last three having lost their first three, including a 4-3 win over Barca just prior to the international break that saw them climb up to 10th.

Villarreal’s home record since the start of last season is W14-D5-L3 and when hosting sides between 5th and 10th they’re W4-D3-L1 in that time, though that sole defeat did come against Celta Vigo themselves, who also won at El Madrigal in 2013/14. It’s also worth noting that Villarreal’s games against these teams have tended to be low-scoring as four of the last five had fewer than two goals, with three goalless draws.

The win at Villarreal was something of an anomaly for Celta last season as they lost their other four visits to top-five sides, though these fixtures tended to be tight as only Barca scored more than twice against them. Indeed, since Celta have kept cleans sheets in their last two on the road and the first half has been goalless in six of their last eight away, we’re going to back the first half to be goalless at 2.6, while Under 2.5 Goals also looks a solid play.

Recommendation: 0-0 Half Time at 2.50
