The Set Odds’ 4-4-2 Betting System: Post-Weekend Review [Week 40]

Hello all,

We didn’t get much luck over the weekend and the three accas sadly went down – but I’m hoping to bounce back with some Champions League success this week.

At one stage on Saturday it looked like the 652/1 Lucas had a decent enough chance of landing but it just wasn’t to be.

Coventry did their best with a 6-1 win at Cheltenham, and Accrington won but didn’t concede.

Blackpool couldn’t manage a winner, drawing 1-1, and that was the same score in Notts County’s visit to Grimsby until the home side netted an injury time winner.

We were Leicester, Bolton and Blackburn goals away from a 17/2 BTTS 4fold, but the Mixed Multiple was hampered by draws.

Burnley, Wolves and Wigan all failed to win what looked to be extremely winnable home games, with just Luton doing the business for us.

The end of the season has been, as usual, a tricky time to predict what’s going to happen. Our luck seemed to change for the worse when perennial end-of-season chokers Derby failed to win at home to Sunderland a few weeks ago.

Anyhow, we’ve got the Champions League to look forward to again in midweek, plus a handful of League One games.

One bet I like the look of for midweek is Real Madrid to win at home to Bayern Munich on Tuesday, and Liverpool to defeat Roma on Wednesday, as both sides did last week. The double pays 5/1, which seems surprising decent.

I also fancy a little dabble on both winning while conceding, also as they did last week, at just over 11/1.

I can still see Real and Liverpool attacking rather than trying to defend their respective 2-1 and 5-2 leads, and their opponents need goals so both games should be open affairs once again.

Roberto Firmino will be hoping to grab a goal to celebrate signing a new Liverpool contract, and I like the look of him at a big 7/1 to net the opener in Rome on Wednesday night.

As well as backing the selection as a single, I’m going to double my Firmino each-way FGS bet up with Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio, who is a 9/1 shot, to make a 69/1 each-way double. Good luck!
