The Set Odds’ 4-4-2 Betting System: Post-Weekend Review [Week 14]

Hello all,

It was a positive and, more importantly, profitable week for the 4-4-2 System!

Hardly life-changing sums, but the profit came courtesy of the 4/1 Win 5fold landing on Saturday, thanks to victories for Man City, Liverpool, Burnley, Luton and Barcelona, so the 5pts staked overall returned 7.5pts.

I wasn’t actually that far away from a clean sweep over the five bets, despite only one of them landing.

The 163/1 4fold saw all four teams win but Napoli were the only ones who conceded, and the Draw Double was 50 per cent correct, let down by Cardiff ending Brentford’s impressive unbeaten run.

The 7/2 Mixed Multiple was ruined by Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City failing to score in their game, and that, plus a few other goals cost the 21/2 BTTS acca.

There was more success on Sunday when I put up a 30/1 each-way FGS double on Twitter.

Both Britt Assombalonga and Richarlison netted for Boro and Watford respectively, but sadly they didn’t grab the first of their matches.

Still, it gave us a lovely bit of profit, paying out at just over 2/1.

It was also a great weekend for my ante-post top goalscorer predictions as three out of three who played all scored.

Gabriel Jesus netted for Man City, Assombalonga scored for Boro and in League One, Charlie Wyke was on the scoresheet for Bradford.

The only other one of my ante-post Lucky 15 who didn’t score was Luton’s James Collins – and that’s because he didn’t play due to a leg injury. It was a heart-breaking game to miss because the Hatters hit Cambridge for SEVEN!

Other good top scorer news saw Brett Pitman – who I also put up at 14/1 as my League One top scorer outsider – hit the back of the net, too.

The Champions League returns this week for its fifth gameweek. It can be a tricky one though as some teams have already qualified for the second round so it’s not always as straight-forward in terms of team selections etc.

If that’s not enough there’s also the midweek treat of full Championship, League One and League Two fixture lists to look forward to – so check back later for further selections.

The Set Odds’ Betting System total profit/loss 2017/18 = -95pts
