Man United v Arsenal Betting Tips: The Set Odds’ Big Match Preview

Man United versus Arsenal is always a tasty affair, quite literally in the year of Pizzagate, but there will be added spice on Sunday with Arsene Wenger sending his Gunners side out for the last time at Old Trafford.

With Wenger set to depart Arsenal at the end of the season he’ll be determined not to be turned over on the scene of his heaviest ever defeat, 8-2 back in 2011, as manager of the north London side, but he’ll be wary of his former star Alexis Sanchez.

With the game sandwiched in between crucial Europa League semi-final ties against Atletico Madrid and with the scores poised at 1-1 following the first leg – in which Arsenal played with a man extra for 80 minutes – he may well rest some of his big hitters.

Team News

Jose Mourinho‘s Man United have a fully fit squad to choose from for the Gunners game, which takes place on Sunday at 4.30pm, apart from reserve keeper Sergio Romero.

Antonio Valencia was injured in last weekend’s FA Cup semi-final win over Spurs but looks to have recovered for this weekend’s game.

For Arsenal, Henrikh Mkhitaryan doesn’t look like he’ll be gracing the Old Trafford pitch with his presence in an Arsenal shirt following the January swap deal with Sanchez between the two clubs.

He has a knee injury, and Mohamed Elneny (ankle) is also out.

Santi Cazorla trained on the Emirates pitch before they faced Atletico Madrid on Thursday night after a lengthy spell out with an ankle injury, but this game should come too soon for him.

However, Wenger will almost certainly start Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who was cup-tied for the Atleti game.

Betting Focus

Arsenal are best priced at a big 15/2 to win at Old Trafford which just goes to show what sort of season they’re having away from home in the League.

Despite the huge price, I just cannot have the Gunners. They’ve won just three of their 16 League games on the road, losing nine of them, meaning they have the 12th best away record in the division.

United have conceded just eight goals in 17 at home, but one of those was in the 1-0 shock home loss to Premier League bottom side West Brom recently.

I cannot see past United but I’m going to hope Arsenal frustrate the Red Devils long enough to hold on until half-time. I like the look of Draw at HT, United at FT at 10/3.

Romelu Lukaku is rightly favourite to net first, but ex Arsenal man Sanchez proved against former rivals Spurs in last weekend’s FA Cup semi that he can still do it on the big stage and he’ll relish the chance to grab the opener against the Gunners at 9/2.

I’m also going to plump for a correct score in this one – predicting a comfortable 2-0 win for United at 7/1 to add further woe to Wenger’s final season in charge of the Gunners.
