Football Betting Tips: The Set Odds’ 4-4-2 Betting System [Week 13]

Hello all,

It’s been an exciting week of Champions League and Championship action to get us nearer to the weekend and plaudits must go to Tottenham for their exquisite performance and victory against Real Madrid.

While it was all glamour for those Spurs fans at Wembley, I got in at 3am following an 11-hour round trip to Preston to watch the mighty Aston Villa.

It was glamorous enough on the pitch though as we eased to a 2-0 win and are looking a real force in Championship, as predicted a few weeks ago when I gave you the heads up about backing us to win the League each-way at 14 /1.

This week sees the start of the FA Cup 1st Round and while it’s a great competition to watch, I’m not a big fan of betting on it – still, it can’t be any more unpredictable than League Two.

But for that reason, I simply can’t justify staking 10pts so am just going to go with 5pts on Saturday.

Arguably, the biggest games of the weekend take place in a truly Super Sunday as Man City host Arsenal and Chelsea take on Man United – look out for my Big Match Previews.

But onto Saturday, the Premier League looks really tricky to call. You could make a case for any win, draw, win outcome in the top flight, so I’m leaving them out of the Win 5fold.

Instead, I’m taking the unprecedented step of heading out of England in search of a victory.

Barcelona, Valencia, Rangers and Hibernian all look to have winnable home games so they’re in, and I’m finishing off in France by tipping Monaco to see off Guingamp.

For the Mixed Multiple, I’m keeping things at home and fancy Derby and Sheffield United to do enough to overcome Reading and Hull respectively.

Both sides have home advantage and the Rams have been creeping up the table with four wins on the bounce, while the Blades had three on the trot until a midweek defeat at QPR. They should bounce back against a struggling Hull side who seem to love conceding goals.

The third team in the bet is my own, Villa. I’ve been impressed with us in recent weeks with John Terry, in particular, a rock at the back, and we should certainly be able to avoid defeat at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

The Lucas Joao came really close last weekend with three of the four legs winning with Watford, who were expected to defeat Stoke at home, letting us down for a whopping 248/1 4fold which would’ve given me profit for the season. It only takes one big one!

Apart from backing Forest to end QPR’s mini-revival, I’m heading abroad to see if we can land one this weekend with fancies for the big boys Barcelona, Bayern Munich and PSG.
