Hello all,
The business end of the season is well and truly in full flow now as we saw over the weekend when Man City clinched the Premier League, and Wolves were promoted, all but confirming their Championship crown. Congratulations to both!
Despite City’s dominant performance at Spurs on Saturday evening, Christian Eriksen managed to get us some money back as he scored the third goal of the game to get us a place winner at just under 7/2 on the 10/1 each-way FGS bet in the Big Match Preview.
In the accas, we were one Cheltenham goal off landing the 19/2 BTTS 4fold, which was particularly disappointing because it was a derby game against Forest Green and the Robins have been fairly free-scoring this season.
I put it down to the end of the season. The last few weeks have proven tricky as just like at the start of the season we are missing out on bets we should be winning by solitary goals.
I’ve heard others say they reduce their stakes around this time of year because it’s just too unpredictable, and I’m considering doing that myself. We’re still 116.6pts up for the season, which is not to be sniffed at!
It could’ve been more as the Win 5fold looked to be coming in on Saturday when Burnley, Crystal Palace and Luton went ahead, but Wigan couldn’t beat Rotherham at home and Peterborough lost 1-0 at home to struggling 10-man Rochdale to end our hopes.
Elsewhere, Fulham ruined the Mixed Multiple by conceding a last-minute equaliser at home to Brentford, but it only delayed the inevitable as Spurs’ loss would’ve been the end of the treble anyway.
I’ve won a fair bit of money on Aleksandar Mitrovic scoring first in recent months but didn’t bother backing him on Saturday because he was down to 3/1. Of course, he scored first. Never mind!
We write that one off and go again this week, starting with Monday night.
It’s West Ham v Stoke and I fancy the Hammers to pulverise the poor Potters with Marko Arnautovic getting the opener at 4/1 with Bet365 (bet HERE).
The Set Odds’ Betting System profit/loss 2017/18 = +116.6pts
