Post-Weekend Review: The Set Odds’ 4-4-2 Betting System [Week 25]

Hello all,

The weekend’s football action was capped off in style on Sunday with Liverpool‘s scintillating 4-3 win over Man City.

Sadly, I backed City to continue their impressive performances in the Prem at Anfield, but full credit to Liverpool who attacked with all they had and got the goals before nearly chucking it away in what would’ve been a comedy of errors.

With the scores standing at 1-1 at half-time I was confident of the 11/2 Draw at HT, City at FT bet landing, and even more so the way they started the second half – but it wasn’t to be.

It was the same case for the other three bets of the weekend – sometimes no matter how much you study the stats the teams you back have an off-day.

Things never really got going in the Win 5fold with Chelsea, Wolves, Bristol City and Bradford all failing to nab three points against winnable opposition.

I talked myself out of backing Blackburn to beat Shrewsbury – which they did – but it wouldn’t have made much difference with a number of surprises over the weekend.

In the BTTS 4fold, Cambridge and Mansfield drew a blank and there was another 0-0 when the usually free-scoring Wigan and Peterborough met, meaning we wouldn’t have stood a chance in the Lucas Joao either, even if the other three results had gone our way.

Luton losing away at Chesterfield was one of many other Saturday surprises. Still, it was only three points ventured on this occasion.

I’ve still managed to land 16/1 and 15/2 winners already this year and since December have won 13/2, 11/2, 9/2, 7/2, 9/4 and 2/1 bets so it hasn’t all been bad.

Sadly, I’m still reeling from a poor start and a lot of bets have missed out by a goal over the season. But that is what happens when you’re betting on longshots I’m afraid.

Monday night sees Man United face Stoke, who have just appointed Paul Lambert as their new manager. He must have a great agent!

Jesse Lingard has been banging them in for fun of late and I fancy a little 0.5pts each-way play on him for FGS at 5/1. A third of odds gets you unlimited places at Bet365 so it is worth doing each-way.
