Chelsea to beat Crystal Palace – 9/20
Crystal Palace haven’t been quite as bad as no points and goals suggests, but the likelihood of them turning things around here is remote.
Chelsea have won all four of their away games this season, and won’t even have to deal with a recognised centre-forward at Selhurst Park.
Brentford to beat Millwall – 10/11
Don’t be put off by Brentford’s slow start to the season.
Dean Smith’s side have fired off more shots than any other Championship team this season, with last month’s 3-0 win at Bolton and 2-2 draw at Middlesbrough hinting that results are beginning to match performances.
Millwall, who are yet to win away from home this season, won’t be able to cope.
Peterborough v Gillingham – 1/2
Without a goal in four league matches, Gillingham are floundering in the League One relegation zone.
And considering that the Gills have had the division’s third-fewest number of shots, and allowed more shots against them than any other side, things are unlikely to drastically change at Peterborough.
Posh have won five of their eight home league matches so far, a record comfortably good enough to claim another victory on Saturday.
Wigan to beat Southend – 1/2
Wigan – helped by the division’s outstanding individual, Nick Powell – are the best team in League One, and will have no problem seeing off Southend on Saturday.
The Latics have won seven of their eight home league matches this season, including each of their their last four.
Southend have lost five of their seven away games this season, including a 4-1 battering at Doncaster last time out.
Mansfield to beat Swindon – 19/20
Mansfield’s home form has driven their decent start to the season, with 14 of their 19 points recorded at Field Mill so far this season.
Indeed, victory over Notts County in their last home match proved their credentials as promotion contenders.
Swindon have been inconsistent this season, and were beaten 2-1 at mid-table Cheltenham last weekend, so should be no match for their impressive hosts.
