Football Betting Tips: The Set Odds’ 4-4-2 System [Internationals Week 2]

The internationals are back (cue groans from everyone apart from Gareth Southgate) – and there isn’t a great deal of value in them as per!

Thankfully, we have League One and League Two to also get us through this unfulfilling footballing betting weekend, but I cannot justify the full 10 4-4-2 System markets this Saturday.

There is no point betting on matches for the sake of it so I’ve scaled things down to a 5-a-Side formation this weekend with five markets.

I’m betting a total of 5pts, plus another 1pt bonus bet you can see below. We can save our main cash for the return of the Premier League and Championship next weekend.

It’s a bit of a risk but I’m kicking off the Win 5fold on Friday night, rather than Saturday, by backing Group G rivals Spain and Italy.

Both have scored a hatful in their qualifying campaigns – Spain are averaging exactly four goals a game – and should have no problems seeing off their respective opposition, Albania and Macedonia, at home. I fancy them both to win by at least two goals.

On Saturday, Switzerland, who have won their last nine games, should see off Hungary.

The Hungarians are fairly indifferent and even got beaten away at Andorra in a qualifier in June, so I expect Haris Seferovic and co to have no problem taking them apart at home.

Over in League One, an unbeaten home team take on an unbeaten away team as Walsall entertain table-toppers Shrewsbury, who have taken an incredible 29 points from 33 this season.

The Shrews are, perhaps surprisingly, second favourites for the game and I fancy them to hold onto their impressive unbeaten record by getting at least a draw in the Midlands.

Over in League Two, it’s top versus bottom as Notts County take on Forest Green in what should be a straightforward home win to complete a winning 5fold.

Elsewhere, a Wales without Gareth Bale could well mean there is more chance of Monarch flying every team to the World Cup next summer than the Dragons being there.

While Bale is a huge loss, the emergence of Ben Woodburn shouldn’t be ignored, but I fancy Wales to get a draw at stalemate-loving Georgia, who haven’t seen a winning team in five of their eight qualifiers.

There’s a big clash in League Two as Accrington take on Luton in a third versus fifth battle. Both sides are in decent form so I can also see this ending in a draw.

While those two bets will hopefully still be alive by Saturday, the other three certainly will. I’m looking for goals as Fleetwood head to Plymouth, preferably for the away team, and when France go to Bulgaria.

In a bet away from the 5-a-Side System, I like the look of a First Goalscorer Each-Way double of Portugal’s Andre Silva – who has scored a goal every 88 minutes in the World Cup qualifying campaign – and Switzerland’s Seferovic.

The double is priced at a huge 20/1 at Bet365 (bet HERE) and they pay unlimited places on each-way FGS bets at one third of the odds! I’m backing it at 0.5pts each-way.

There’s no Villa Watch for me this week as we haven’t got a game so I’m off to Ascot to hopefully boost my coffers ready for more 4-4-2 Betting System investment next week!

Also, don’t forget to check out The Set Odds Twitter account for other tips.

On Monday, I put up a long-term tip – Martyn Waghorn to be top scorer in the Championship at a huge 66/1 with Betway. A few days later, and with no games played, they’ve cut him to 20/1.

What’s more, Villa have come in from 12/1 to 10/1 for the title since I gave them the heads up before last week’s 1-0 win over bottom-of-the-table Bolton.

Coral, who I suggested backing the 12s with, have slashed their odds to 8/1!
