It’s a cracking Monday Night Football fixture as Man United travel to Anfield to take on their fierce rivals. Liverpool’s hard-fought victory over Swansea means they’ve now won four on the bounce, scoring 13 themselves but also conceding in each, resulting in all four seeing at least three strikes.
Since dropping Rooney, United have looked a lot more threatening going forward. They put four past Leicester and while they only drew 1-1 against Stoke, they created a whole host of chances, prompting Mourinho to state that it was their best performance of the season. However, there are still issues at the back for the Red Devils with just two clean sheets in the league this season. Moreover, they looked very exposed against Man City and in our eyes Liverpool’s attack offers the same amount of quality.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have certainly earned the right to be favourites following an excellent start to their campaign, but much to the annoyance of the Kop faithful, they have a terrible recent head-to-head against United, losing seven of their last nine, including the last two on Merseyside. We’re happy to avoid the match outcome and instead we’ll look to the goals market. Liverpool’s last 10 home matches have had at least two goals, seven at least three and six had four or more. Furthermore since 2013/14, 11 of their 16 at Anfield against top-six sides have had three or more strikes. In addition to United possessing plenty of quality up front we fancy a goal-fest.
Best Bet: Over 3.5 Goals at 2.87
