Bournemouth secured a credible draw at Watford prior to the international break, although they twice let a lead slip, much to Eddie Howe’s annoyance. After starting slowly with two defeats they’ve since improved to pick up eight points from their last five fixtures, including victories in their last two at Dean Court. It’s a contrasting story for Hull who started well with back-to-back victories but have since secured just one point from five and have dropped towards the relegation zone.
This is where many had envisaged Hull being at the beginning of the season, but to be fair to the Tigers they’ve had a tough run of fixtures against sides that are likely to be disputing for a top-four place come May. Against Liverpool and Arsenal they had a man sent-off and were thrashed, but excluding those, their games have been quite tight with four of five having no more than two strikes.
Bournemouth shifted goals against the two Manchester clubs but other than that they’ve also had some close affairs with four of their remaining five matches having fewer than three goals and three seeing no more than one. We don’t foresee a goal-fest but considering Hull’s confidence has taken a blow in recent weeks and the Cherries form has been solid, we’ll back the home side to prevail.
