West Bromwich Albion vs West Ham

3pm – 17.09.16 – The Hawthorns

A frustrating transfer window for West Brom was confounded by a 1-0 defeat in a negative performance at Bournemouth. Tony Pulis would have hoped Saido Berahino could act like a new signing but as they found out last weekend, where he missed two guilt edge opportunities, it’s very difficult to turn it on when you feel like it in this league.

There are problems at the back for West Ham, shipping 17 goals in their last seven games including a capitulation last time out to concede four against Watford after going 2-0 up. Their new signings have yet to integrate into the side and with injuries up front their main threat seems to come from the head of Michail Antonio.

Albion are winless in six at the Hawthorns and the Irons have lost their last three away from home so both will be desperate for a victory to silence their critics. This could lead to both sides attacking more in search of all three points, something we associate much more with Slavan Bilic’s side than Pulis’. Just three of WBA’s last 10 at home have finished
with over 2.5 goals, compared to each of West Ham’s last eight road games, five of which saw at least four strikes. However, the home side should get their opportunities to score against a shaky Hammers defence, so with this in mind over 2.5 goals at odds-against looks great value.
