Schalke managed to hold on for a 1-1 draw at Bayern but with just one win in their last seven they continue to struggle and remain down in 12th. Hertha, meanwhile, edged past Ingolstadt 1-0, a much-needed result given they’d lost four of five heading into that game. They remain in 6th, but they’re just two points off Eintracht in 3rd as the battle for the European spots outside the top two looks set to be an interesting one in the Bundesliga as 3rd and 7th are separated by only three points.
Schalke continue to struggle for goals as they’ve managed only five in their last seven. They’ve won half of their 10 home games, but each of those victories have come over bottom-half sides as they’ve picked up only one point from the five visits of top-half opposition, scoring only two goals in these games.
Hertha themselves aren’t in the best scoring form as they’ve managed only five in their last six but Salomon Kalou is back from the African Cup of Nations and they score 24% more goals in their away games since the start of last season with him in the side, while they also pick up 54% more points on average. They’ve had a tough run of away fixtures as they’ve already gone to seven of the other eight top-half sides, managing draws against the likes of Eintracht and Dortmund, whilst they’ve picked up seven points from their three trips to bottom-half teams. We’re backing Hertha or Draw Double Chance.
