Roma v Udinese
Roma had an excellent second half of the season under Luciano Spalletti as they won 14 of their last 17 unbeaten games and showed they are once again in good order as they drew at Porto in their midweek Champions League qualifier. Udinese, meanwhile, flirted with relegation once again last term as they did in 2014/15 in what’s been a dramatic fall from grace after they achieved top-five finishes between 2010/11-2012/13.
Despite their struggles at the start of the season, Roma had a W13-D5-L1 record at the Stadio Olimpico as they led at the break 10 times, though kept only five clean sheets. When hosting bottom-six sides, Roma’s home record is an impressive W12-D6-L0 since 2013/14, though they only kept one clean sheet in the last eight of the games.
Udinese were winless in their last 10 road games and their record when travelling to top-five sides is W2-D0-L8 in the last couple of seasons as they managed just six goals and trailed at the break in half. Since Roma led at the break in five of their six home games against bottom-six teams last season, we’re backing them to be ahead at half-time and full-time here.
