Juventus v Fiorentina
Juve will be hoping for a much better start this season than they managed last term as they picked up only nine points from their opening seven games to leave them down in 15th. Fiorentina, fresh from a fourth consecutive top-five finish, will be hoping for an upset at the Juventus Stadium on the opening day of the season, much like Udinese caused last season as they became the first team to beat Juve at home since January 2013.
Since that defeat, Juventus won 16 of 18 unbeaten home games and they’re an impressive W32-D5-L1 in the last couple seasons at home, with 23 clean sheets. Juve have remarkably won all 25 of their home games against fellow top-six sides since 2011/12, with 14 W/W doubles and 16 wins without conceding.
Fiorentina were W7-D5-L7 on the road last term, but their record when travelling to top-four sides is just W3-D2-L14 since 2012/13 with eight L/L doubles, though they did manage to find the net in 14 of these 19 games and only failed to score in five road matches last term. However, the Juve back line is as miserly as they come and as a result we expect the Old Lady to continue their remarkable home record against the top sides and win this one without conceding.
