West Ham v Tottenham
20:00 - 5/5/2017 - London Stadium, East London
Spurs ensured they remain just four points behind leaders Chelsea with an impressive victory in the North London derby, and they now have a chance to put some pressure on the Blues in a Friday night kick-off. West Ham’s season is in danger of petering out with a goalless draw at Stoke their second in a row, meaning they’ve won just one of their last 11 fixtures and sit in 15th, though they’re just two points off 9th-placed Southampton.
Spurs are doing everything they can to chase down Chelsea, wining each of their last nine league games while conceding just four goals. Only three of these have come on the road where previously they’d won just four of 13, though each was against a side outside the top-eight. They’ve won seven of nine unbeaten away matches versus such opposition this term, with five of these victories by two or more goals.
It’s been a poor season for the Hammers, especially against the division’s best sides as they’ve lost eight of 10 winless encounters against the top-six. These sides have particularly enjoyed the extra space provided at the new London Stadium, with Bilic’s men losing all four there so far, three of which were by more than a one goal margin. Spurs are on a roll and look a good bet to cover the -1 handicap on Friday night.
