West Brom v Swansea
20.00 - 14/12/16 - The Hawthorns, West Bromwich
Bob Bradley will be breathing a sigh of relief today after his Swans put Sunderland to the sword 3-0 at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday, but this week they face the altogether different prospect of the high-flying
West Brom at The Hawthorns. The Baggies, who were unlucky to go down 1-0 against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge after a sterling defensive effort, will look to outclass a team that is free of the relegation spots on goal difference alone.
Defeat against league leaders Chelsea ended a four-match unbeaten streak for Pulis’s men, but that will not deter a West Brom side that has lost to Man City alone in its last six home games. Their efforts against weaker teams have been particularly impressive: they put at least three past each of West Ham, Burnley and Watford in that stretch, and given that Swansea have collected only one point on the road following their first-day victory at Burnley, the Baggies may well prove too organised for a team that has kept only one clean sheet in its last 10 efforts against top-half sides.
Swansea will feel buoyed by their success at the weekend, but it’s unlikely that they’ll be able to match the discipline and home form of West Brom. For that reason, we’re backing West Brom to win this one.
