West Brom v Manchester Utd
17.30 - 17/12/16 - The Hawthorns, West Bromwich
Though United are unbeaten in seven coming into this match their hosts have actually accrued more wins over that period as both teams have picked up 13 points. Both sides won in midweek with the Baggies easily dispatching Swansea while the Red Devils left it very late to beat Palace in an even, and at times dull, affair.
West Brom have won six games already this term but under closer examination they were expected to do well in those matches. All six victories were against teams currently in the bottom half. They’ve not done so well against better teams but a W6-D11-L13 hosting top-six finishers over the past five season is nothing to be sniffed at.
Man Utd have won just three of their last 10 Prem matches with seven under 2.5 Goals games – and overs only came in during the dying moments at Palace. In recent years they’ve struggled against the Baggies with just two wins in their last seven league head-to-heads.
Given the visitors’ strong defence – no team has scored more than once against United in their last seven – it’s difficult to envision a home win but they look good for a point. A seventh draw of the campaign for Mourinho’s boys looks the play here.
