West Brom v Hull City Betting Tips

West Brom conceded a soft goal in their game against Southampton on New Year’s Eve, but Hal Robson-Kanu’s stunner allowed them to take home all three points from St. Mary’s. On Monday they host Hull, who were held to a draw against Everton on Friday night after a late Ross Barkley equaliser. The Tigers remain firmly in the relegation zone with just one win on the road. Given their poor away form, they will struggle to overcome a side that has only lost at home to Man United and Man City since August.

West Brom’s home performances against bottom-six sides seem to be on an upward trajectory under Tony Pulis. They were winless in their last four such matches at home last season, but have won both home games against bottom-six sides so far this season by a two goal margin. They will be heartened by the dreadful record Hull have against top-half sides: they’ve lost seven of their last eight away games against top-half sides, and the lone win in that stretch was against Swansea earlier in the season. Furthermore, they’ve failed to get on the scoresheet in five of those eight games, so West Brom have a good chance of keeping a clean sheet.

West Brom should overpower a weak Hull side at The Hawthorns, and while they have managed to keep a clean sheet in just one of their last seven home games against bottom-half sides, we think Hull’s goalscoring troubles mean a West Brom Win to Nil could be on the cards.

Best bet: West Brom Win to Nil at 2.5
