West Brom v Crystal Palace
15:00 - 4/3/2017 - The Hawthorns, West Bromwich
West Brom are now unbeaten in five in the Prem after recording their seventh home win in their last eight attempts last weekend against Bournemouth. This weekend they welcome a Crystal Palace side that boosted their hopes of survival with a win over Boro, a victory that ended their run of five consecutive home defeats, but having recorded just one away win since September they may find themselves hard pressed to overcome the Baggies.
West Brom have been excellent at home against struggling teams this year. They’ve won all four games they’ve played at The Hawthorns against bottom-six sides, with three of those games going over 3.5 goals and a two-goal margin of victory for Albion each time. Palace have failed to score in four of their last six matches across all competitions while they’ve gone W1-D1-L5 against middle-third sides on the road this season, and so they should face serious difficulties breaking West Brom down on home turf.
West Brom’s excellent recent home record and perfect record this season against bottom-six sides suggests that Pulis has drilled into them the need to dispatch struggling sides like Palace at home, and we think Palace’s goalscoring troubles will make it impossible to stop the Baggies. The home win looks like a good price at odds-against.
