West Brom v Chelsea
20:00 - 12/5/2017 - The Hawthorns, West Bromwich
Victory over Middlesbrough on Monday at the Bridge means Chelsea can clinch the title on Friday night at the Hawthorns. West Brom, meanwhile, have tailed off since securing Premier League safety, winning just one of their last nine, but they remain a highly creditable eighth in the standings.
This poor run consists of six defeats where they’ve failed to score in each, but the sole victory did come at home against Arsenal. This is the Baggies’ only success over teams above them all season as their record reads W1-D2-L9 in such encounters. Seven of these defeats have come to nil, and with defenders Craig Dawson and Gareth McAuley the only players to score more than once in their last 12, they may struggle to cause the Blues any significant problem.
Chelsea are marching towards the title, proving any doubters wrong by scoring 10 goals and conceding just once in three successive victories since their defeat at Old Trafford. They’ve dropped points in a third of their 18 roads games so far, but if you exclude the top-six form this then they’ve won 11 of 13 unbeaten matches. Seven of these victories came to nil and we fancy them to keep another clean sheet on their way to Premier League glory.
