West Brom v Bournemouth
15:00 - 25/2/2017 - The Hawthorns, West Bromwich
Bournemouth’s decline since their famous win over Liverpool earlier in the season has been precipitous: they’ve lost five of their last six across all competitions, and they have failed to get on the scoresheet in two of their last three. They are now genuine relegation contenders, and they face a tricky trip this weekend to West Brom, who are comfortably nestled in mid-table, undefeated in their last four.
West Brom’s home record against bottom-half teams is excellent in recent times. They’ve won all five games they’ve played at The Hawthorns this season against such teams by at least two goals, and they’ve picked up points in nine of the last 11 they’ve played there against bottom-half sides, so they’ll be expecting to put a few past a Bournemouth side that has shipped the third-most goals in the league this season, including 15 in their last five. Bournemouth have won only one of their last five games at middle-third sides, and after six losses in their last seven on the road, all of which saw more than two goals, we’re anticipating a high-scoring game that’s unlikely to go Bournemouth’s way.
West Brom have weathered sterner storms at home than that which Bournemouth will offer this Saturday, and we expect this to be another goal-filled win for the Baggies. We’ll back West Brom and Over 2.5.
