Watford v Tottenham
15:00
Watford were perhaps fortunate to rescue a point at Palace last time out in a game in which they were very much second-best. Nonetheless, Walter Mazzarri’s side move up to 10th, though whether they can finish in the top half come the end of the season remains to be seen. Spurs, meanwhile, picked up an impressive 4-1 win at Southampton, admittedly aided by a red card for Nathan Redmond. Nonetheless, last season’s heroes Kane and Alli have found some form and the goals are starting to flow for Pochettino’s side, with 14 in their last five.
Watford have lost only one of their last seven at Vicarage Road, but they’ve had a relatively easy run of fixtures, hosting three of the bottom-five in their last five home games. They’ve generally struggled when hosting the top teams as the victory over a Man Utd side that had yet to hit their stride ended a run of seven straight defeats at home to top-six opposition.
However, the Hornets did manage to find the net in five of these defeats and have scored in all but one of their last 13 at home. Spurs, meanwhile, have kept only two clean sheets in their last nine and those were against Hull and Swansea, the current bottom-two. Indeed, Spurs have won nine of 13 unbeaten trips to teams between 8th and 15th, but again kept only three clean sheets in these games. With that in mind, we’re backing Spurs to Win and Both Teams to Score.
