Watford v Everton
12.30 - 10/12/16 - Goodison Park
This mid-table clash sees Watford welcome Everton, and a win for the hosts would allow them to leapfrog Everton and break back into the top 10 after sliding down from seventh after 10 games to 11th after 14.
Everton continue to struggle for consistency and have won just one of their last nine, but they may take heart from the fact that Watford have lost seven of their last 10 home games against top-half teams.
Watford looked out of sorts against West Brom last weekend, which may have stemmed from the fact that they were compelled to play four at the back (rather than their usual three) owing to suspensions to Miguel Angel Britos and Valon Behrami, who return this week. They are, however, without Roberto Pereyra, who picked up a red card last weekend: given that they have failed to win in the three league games the playmaker has missed since arriving over the summer, they may be hard pushed to bag the three points this weekend without him, though this looks an excellent chance to break that run against an Everton side that continue to be overrated.
The Toffees are in a rotten run of form: they’ve failed to score in eight of their last 20 away games, and they’ve gleaned just one point from their last five on the road, scoring twice and conceding 10 times in that span. That being said, we think that Watford aren’t consistent enough to make this a comfortable home win for the hosts, so we’re backing them Draw No Bet.
