After impressive wins against Espanyol and Villarreal, Valencia were beaten 3-1 at Las Palmas and so remain in 15th, but they’re six points clear of Gijon in 18th with a game in hand, so relegation shouldn’t be too much of a concern. They trail Eibar in 10th by 10 points after the men from the Basque Country beat Deportivo at home.
Valencia have won only two of their eight home games to date with the defence a continual problem for them as they’ve shut out their opponents in only one of their last 22 at the Mestalla. When hosting middle-third sides their record since the start of last season is in fact a fairly impressive W6-D3-L3, but we’re not particularly keen on backing such an inconstant side at 1.91.
Eibar have lost just two of their last six on the road, managing a draw at the Bernabeu in that time. They’ve also drawn at Espanyol in that stretch and while they don’t win a lot on their travels, we think they can pick up a point here. Since they themselves are without a clean sheet in 19 away, Over 2.5 Goals is of interest at 1.73, while the 2-2 correct score is a tempting 12.0 shot.
