Tottenham v Arsenal
16.30 - 30/4/2017 - White Hart Lane, North London
Arsenal managed to grind out a 1-0 win over Leicester midweek despite Alexis Sanchez’s histrionics regarding Robert Huth’s throw-in, and they are four points back of Man City who lie fourth. They make the short trip to White Hart Lane on Sunday for the North London Derby, and the Spurs side they face came back from the disappointment of an FA Cup semi-final loss to beat Crystal Palace 1-0, a result that keeps the pressure on Chelsea at the top of the table.
Spurs’s home form remains imperious coming into this clash. They’ve put eight unanswered goals past their last two opponents there, and while Arsenal may pose a sterner test than Watford and Bournemouth, 12 straight wins (seven of which were by more than one goal) is a formidable record. They’ve won both their home games against sides in the top six at the time (Man City and Chelsea respectively) 2-0, but given that Arsenal have got on the scoresheet in each of their seven games this season against top-six outfits we think the Gunners will get on the scoresheet. That said, we don’t think Arsenal will have enough firepower to produce the win: they’re winless in their last six against top-six sides.
We think Arsenal won’t be good enough to stop Tottenham’s winning run, but they’ll be fired up for this game against their rivals, and should get on the scoresheet. Spurs and Both to Score is our pick.
