Swansea v Everton
17.30 - 6/5/2017 - Liberty Stadium, Swansea
This is a huge game for Swansea’s survival hopes as Hull are massive favourites in their home clash with relegation-bound Sunderland, meaning the Swans – who trail the Tigers by two points – realistically must triumph here. Paul Clement’s side would have built some much-needed confidence over the last couple of weeks, backing up a home victory over Stoke with a hard-fought point at Old Trafford.
Everton’s pursuit of the top-six has taken a blow in recent weeks and as a result they look nailed on for 7th and the best of the rest award. While going well at Goodison all season, the Toffees have rather under-performed away from Merseyside, winning just two of their last 15 and none of their last six, though their only defeats in their last nine have come against Spurs and Liverpool.
The Swans have won four of their last six at home, but their record when hosting top-half teams reads just W1-D1-L6 so far. All eight of these featured at least three strikes and given the context of the game, the hosts will have to go for it here, leaving them open to the likes of Lukaku and Barkley on the counter-attack. 12 of Swansea’s last 16 at the Liberty have had at least three strikes, as have nine of Everton’s last 17 trips to bottom-six sides, so we’ll back Over 2.5 Goals.
