Sunderland v Burnley
15:00 - 18/3/2017 - Stadium of Light, Sunderland
Sunderland’s miserable run of form showed no signs of abating last time out: their 2-0 loss to Man City was their third consecutive scoreless defeat, and after failing to score in five of their last six league games they must go in search of wins if they wish to retain their place in the top flight next season. The Burnley side they face have had a miserable time of it lately: they’re winless in their last six across all competitions, and despite being seven points clear of the drop zone they cannot afford to get complacent.
Fortunately for Sunderland, Burnley have the worst away record in the league. They’ve gone W0-D2-L12 on their travels this season, and they’ve lost nine of their last 10 on the road. However, they are yet to play three of the current bottom four on the road, so they’ll feel they have a good chance of picking up some points on their travels. They’ve also picked up two wins and a draw against current bottom-six sides at all venues, and given that Sunderland has lost two and drawn one of the three matches between these two sides this season in all competitions, the Clarets will feel that they have a strong chance on Saturday.
Burnley have a poor away record so far, but with Steven Defour looking ready to return against a Sunderland side that has been extremely disappointing in recent weeks we think they’re in with a chance. We’ll take them on the Draw No Bet.
