Stade Rennes v Lyon
15:00
Rennes have remarkably drawn eight of their last 10 matches and their tally of 28 goals in their 30 games this term is comfortably the lowest of anyone else in the top half. Lyon have netted 60 times already, though they lost their last game at PSG and so remain in 4th as a Europa League spot is the best they can hope for with the top-three out of reach.
Rennes won seven of nine unbeaten home games in the first half of the season, but they’ve since won only one of their last six on their own turf. Nonetheless, they remain tough to beat as they’ve lost only twice at home all season, and one of those was against PSG. They’ve managed draws against the likes of Nice and Bordeaux, both of whom are in the top-six, as are Marseille, whom they beat at home earlier on in the campaign.
Lyon have netted 17 in their last four at home, but they’ve lost four of five winless road games, while four of their five away wins this term have come against sides currently below Rennes in the table. As a result, it’s surprising to see them as short as 1.83 for this one, particularly given how tough Rennes are beat at home. Lyon are without a clean sheet in their last six away and against a well-organized Rennes side who have scored in all their home games except against PSG, they may well struggle to score at least twice. We’re backing the hosts on the Double Chance.
Recommendation: Rennes or Draw Double Chance at 2.0
