Sassuolo v Inter Milan
15:00
After a strong start to the season that saw them 5th after nine games thanks to five wins, Sassuolo have since lost five of their last seven, though they have had a tough run of fixtures as they’ve played five top-seven sides in that time. Inter, meanwhile, made it seven points from Stefano Pioli’s first four games in charge as they beat Genoa 2-0 at home to move up to 9th.
Sassuolo have won five of their seven home games this term but each of those wins came against teams that are currently 12th or lower and they were well-beaten by both Roma and Atalanta in their other two home games. They did manage to beat Inter in their final home game last term and that together with home wins against Juve, Napoli, Lazio and Milan suggests they’re certainly capable against the top teams, but they’re ravished with injuries at the moment, with the absence of exciting winger Domenico Berardi hitting them particularly hard.
Inter have lost four of their last five on the road, but four of those were against top-six sides and they’d won their two away games prior to that at Empoli and Pescara. They’ve in fact won half of their trips to sides outside the top eight since the start of last season and given Sassuolo’s poor form at the moment, we’re happy to back Inter at evens.
