With the rest of the top-five all playing each other this weekend, this represents an excellent opportunity for Roma to gain some ground on their rivals and make it seven wins from their last eight. Promoted Cagliari are in decent form themselves as their 4-1 win at home to Genoa was their second in their last three games and sees them move up to 10th, 16 points clear of the relegation zone.
Roma have won their last 12 at the Stadio Olimpico, scoring more than twice in seven of their nine games there this term. It was only the Milan sides that prevented them from netting three times, so they’ll fancy their chances of putting plenty past Cagliari. However, Spaletti has some selection issues as Perotti, Florenzi and Salah are all unavailable. Egyptian international Salah has managed eight goals and five assists in 16 appearances this term and Form Labs Black Players tell us he’s missed just 11 games since the start of last season. While Roma have won six of these, they’ve scored more than twice in just one, with nine of these seeing fewer than three goals.
Cagliari have won seven of their 10 home games, but they’ve lost eight of 10 on the road, the most recent of which was a 1-0 defeat at Milan. Indeed, they’ve managed just one goal in their last four on the road, but didn’t concede more than twice in any of these. With those players missing for Roma, we think they might struggle to score more than twice, so the home win and Under 2.5 Goals looks a good option at 5.0.
