Real Madrid v Real Sociedad

Real have looked a little vulnerable in recent weeks as their unbeaten run was brought to an end by Sevilla, they were beaten at home by Celta Vigo in the first leg of their Copa del Rey clash, whilst they only beat Malaga 2-1 in the league last weekend. Sociedad, meanwhile, have won four of their last five in the league and are up to 5th, level on points with Atletico but trailing them on goal difference.
Real have won their last six at the Bernabeu, but the last five of these have been against sides currently in the bottom-seven and prior to that they’d only edged out Bilbao 2-1 and drawn against Eibar and Villarreal. Indeed, they’ve won only three of their home games all season by more than one goal and each of those came against bottom-four sides and so we certainly won’t be backing them to cover the -2 handicap at 2.5.
Sociedad have won four of their last five on the road and while each of these wins have come at bottom-seven sides, they’ve proved their capable of mixing it in with the top sides as they’ve beaten Atletico at home and held Barcelona to a draw. With that in mind, we’re backing Sociedad +2 on the handicap, whilst the draw is a tempting 6.5 shot.
