A huge clash in Ligue 1 sees champions PSG host league leaders Monaco as they look to close the three point gap at the top. After finishing last year with only two wins in their final six games in all competitions, PSG have started this year in better fashion by winning all five of their games without conceding in four. However, they face by far their stiffest challenge here as they host the free-scoring Monaco, who have netted eight in their last two in the league.
PSG have won seven of 10 unbeaten home games this term, but the draws have all come against the only top-eight sides they’ve hosted and they had to come from 0-2 down to rescue a point against Nice in their penultimate home match. What’s more, PSG have a very poor record against Monaco in recent times as they’ve won only one of their last 14 meetings with them, with three of the last four at the Parc des Princes ending all-square.
Monaco have won three of their last four on the road, with the last two of these impressive 0-4 and 1-4 victories at Bordeaux and Marseille respectively. While it would be a big ask to repeat the feat of last season and beat PSG in front of their own fans, we think the visitors can pick up a point, as they have done on numerous occasions against the Parisians.
